摘要: Summary Alveolar and cystic echinococcosis, serious parasitic diseases caused by larval stages of Echino-coccus multilocularis E. granulosus has been diagnosed in Slovakia for a long time. Study pre-sents case 49-years old patient with accidentally one big (60 mm) multiple small (2 – 24 hypoechogenic structures localised right liver lobe. According to positive serology antigen results imaging examinations the was classifi ed as possible echinococcosis treated mebendazole. Later, due worsening clinical, laboratory CT fi ndings surgical biopsy performed subsequent PCR examination tissue confi rmed diagnosis alveolar echinococosis. Clinical picture disease imitating presented report, together serologi-cal tests importance accurate differential echinococcosis. Each aspect clinical should be considered responsibly, however, sometimes only molecular techniques can solve problem diagnosis.
