摘要: Fungi are present in saline environments that can be broadly categorized as either open ocean or intertidal (coastline) habitats. Many ecological niches exist within these environments, which fungi adapted to marine conditions may act saprobes, pathogens, symbionts. These have a substantial impact on ecosystem functions such nutrient cycling, productivity, life history and demographics of other organisms, resilience. Recent biodiversity research demonstrates colonize wide variety substrates possess unique adaptations for submerged routinely exposed water. The more well-known include decomposers floating wood, mangrove associates, saltmarsh saprobes less easily accessible previously overlooked habitats like deep sea vents sand beaches show ubiquitous diverse than considered; there many opportunities future uncover new fungal species expand our functional understanding known species.
