摘要: Metallic reconstruction plates used for fracture stabilization typically require intraoperative contouring patient-specific anatomical fit. Despite this, characterization of plate mechanical properties after has previously been limited. The objective this study was to assess whether affects fatigue resistance three types Stryker seven-hole stainless steel (SS) 316LVM fixation plates. hypothesis that each type, more repetitions would result in lower resistance. Plates were contoured using a bench-top bender ±20° either 0×, 3×, 6×, or 9× (n = 5 per group) and tested the straight configuration. Cyclic four-point bending applied an incremental stepwise staircase approach (one step = 100,000 cycles, 10 Hz) until failure (defined as brittle plastic deformation 10° permanent bend). Moment-cycle product (MCP) computed summation maximum moment × number cycles primary measure No significant differences detected between groups Basic Fragment Set (BFS) Reconstruction Plates. Significantly measured Matta Pelvic System (MPS) Straight compared 0× (p = 0.023). MPS Flex 3× had greater than (p = 0.031) (p = 0.032). This work provides resistance-based evidence clinicians should avoid high Meanwhile, BFS are not negatively affected by contouring. These results allow improved decisions about discarding multiple repetitions.
