摘要: Telomere shortening occurs as an early event in tumorigenesis. The TERT-CLPTM1L locus associates with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) risk. It remains unknown if leukocyte telomere length (LTL) NPC risk and survival. relative LTL (rLTL) was measured by quantitative-PCR 2,996 individuals comprised of 1,284 cases 1712 matched controls. odds ratio (OR) 95% confidence intervals (CI) were calculated logistic regression. hazard (HR) CI Cox regression for survival analysis rLTL other clinical parameters 1,243 a minimum follow-up period 25 months. patients had significantly shorter than Shorter associated increased risk, when the dichotomized into long short telomeres based on median-split control group (OR = 2.317; CI = 1.989-2.700, p = 4.10 × 10-27 ). We observed significant dose-response association (ptrend  = 3.26 × 10-34 ) between OR being 3.555 (95% CI = 2.853-4.429) first quartile (shortest) compared normal fourth (longest). A multivariate adjusted age demonstrated independent effect late-stage patients, categorized suboptimal versus medium threshold set from (HR = 1.471, CI = 1.056-2.048, p = 0.022). blood may be markers higher susceptibility Suboptimal poor prognostic factor advanced it independently
