摘要: Abstract Functionalization of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) with biodegradable supramolecular polypseudorotaxanes has been successfully performed by utilizing surface-initiated ring-opening polymerization e-caprolactone (CL) to yield poly(e-caprolactone)-grafted MWNTs (MWNT-g-PCL), followed forming inclusion complexes between grafted-PCL chains and α-cyclodextrins (α-CDs) give α-CD-NTPCL hybrids. There are significant differences in the morphology solubility before after introduction α-CD. Some protuberances clearly observed for as compared MWNT-g-PCL. Furthermore, host–guest stoichiometry (monomeric unit CL/α-CD molar ratio) is much higher than that consisted linear PCL α-CDs. This observation can be explained a combination several reasons including steric hindrance grafted-PCL, competitive exclusion adjacent toward α-CD, addition order α-CD well feed ratio. The present methodology may open up new opportunity application chemistry chemical manipulation processing CNTs. Moreover, such novel hybrids provide an entry extend applications CNTs medicine biology fields through embedding functional polymers heterogeneous components.
