摘要: The human nose is an important organ of respiration which by virtue its valvular influence becomes a significant effector respiratory resistance over wide range ventilatory requirements. In man effectiveness in this regard related to flow limiting segment (FLS) located at the limen nasi. Its passive effect additionally modified active contractions dilator naris muscle (DNM) controlled through VII cranial nerve brain stem center. behavior, quantitatively determined beings and experimental animals, summarized. 1) man, phasic DNM activity operates during eupneic nasal breathing varies directly with resistance. 2) elimination all measurable results complete cessation activity. 3) Over time, reduced produces difficulty reestablishing function once it physiologically lost. 4) pulmonary mechano- pressure-receptors via afferent vagal pathways. response dilators control, therefore, appears dependent on physiologic integrity vagus nerves. It our belief that control has not previously been appreciated context.
