摘要: Abstract Electron transparent sections of aluminium and its alloys can be generated readily by ultramicrotomy, revealing matrix second phase material upon direct observation in the transmission electron microscope. Detailed examination sections, after retrieval from a water bath located at rear diamond knife used for sectioning, reveals various textures closely adjacent to different compositions. Such texture, associated with extents Al(OH) 3 development, result local alkalinity cathodically active consequent effects on adjacent, filming matrix. This approach thus enables rapid assessment cathodic activity alloys.
