摘要: Free radical polymerization of 2-propenamide in the presence lignin, anhydrous calcium chloride, and cericion photolyzed dioxane solvent produces a reaction product containing lignin-(1-amidoethylene) graft copolymer. Up to 49 weight percent is poly(1-amidoethylene) homopolymer. Photolysis products chloride are critical reaction. A maximum yield polymer obtained when irradiated for 3 h Pyrex vessel mixture contains 2.0 chloride. Aqueous size exclusion chromatography shows that molecular lignin-(2-propenamide) significantly greater than unreacted side chain lignin backbone migrate as one unit through column, mixtures easily separated by chromatographic column.
