摘要: Cadmium is a highly toxic metal that can be ingested or inhaled from variety of industrial and dietary sources. The purpose this study was to investigate the effects vitamin E on renal dysfunction blood pressure changes in chronic cadmium-poisoned rats. Sprague-Dawley rats weighing 100 +/- 10 g were randomly assigned one control group three groups. groups according levels supplementation: E-free diet (Cd-0E group), 40 mg E/kg (Cd-40E 400 (Cd-400E group). animals raised for 20 weeks, cadmium supplied drinking water at 50 ppm Cd(2+). morphological observed by both light electron microscopy revealed mitochondria tubule epithelial cell edema Cd-0E group, yet alleviated with highest level supplementation urinary beta(2)-microglobulin indicated glomerular injury higher Cd-poisoned than but lowered supplementation. Although filtration rate (GFR) significantly lower E-supplemented exhibited similar GFR suggesting protected kidney functional damage. Angiotensin converting enzyme activity, pressure, heart all each remained nearly normal Accordingly, these results indicate normalized regulation.
