摘要: J Oral Pathol Med (2011) 40: 706–714 Background: Histone deacetylases (HDACs) have been associated with tumor development and progression in several types of human malignancy HDAC inhibitors are currently being explored as anti-cancer agents clinical trials. The aim the present study was to evaluate significance HDAC-1 -2 protein expression mobile tongue squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). Methods: assessed immunohistochemically on 49 SCC tissue samples analyzed relation clinicopathological characteristics, overall disease-free patients’ survival. Results: overexpression significantly younger age (P = 0.0381) male gender (P = 0.0345), poor histopathological grade differentiation (P = 0.0236) presence lymph node metastases (P = 0.0104). Intense staining intensity (P = 0.0127), increased stromal infiltration reaction (P = 0.0125) well-defined shape invasion (P = 0.0396). HDAC-2 did not show significant correlations any parameters, whereas intense muscular (P = 0.0466) advanced depth (P = 0.0251). Mobile patients presented shorter survival compared those no evidence (log-rank test, P = 0.0651 0.0247, respectively). Conclusions: supported that HDACs may participate formation SCC, reinforcing their possible use biomarkers also therapeutic utility chemoprevention treatment.
