Effect of wall conductivity on current distribution and turbulence in a channel flow with spanwise magnetic field

摘要: The effect of wall conductivity on turbulence in electrically conducting fluid the presence a constant magnetic field is considered. A channel flow with spanwise analyzed using high-resolution direct numerical simulations performed for case low Reynolds number. It found that suppression wall-normal momentum transfer and reduction friction identified earlier perfectly insulating walls enhanced if are conducting. phenomenon discussed detail explained via analysis patterns induced electric currents.
