摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter presents an overview of posttranslational NH 2 -terminal aminoacylation. Aminoacyl-tRNA protein transferases catalyze the addition certain amino acids to -terminus specific proteins and peptides. These enzymes constitute one mechanism for modification -termini may contribute heterogeneity in residues, which has been observed bulk both prokaryotes eukaryotes. Modifications can be classified into three basic types: (1) cleavage reactions, a formyl, methionyl, or other residue is removed; (2) alteration it converted another type molecule, such as α-keto acid cyclized derivative; (3) including acetylation, phosphorylation, aminoacylation, small molecules are added it. The focuses on biochemistry physiological function reactions catalyzed by aminoacyl-tRNA transferases.
