摘要: Abstract Thematic Mapper (TM) data were tested in a classification of general land use, but especially semi-natural habitats, an intensively-farmed area lowland Britain. The range classes which could be identified, and the accuracy classifications much enhanced by use multitemporal (summer autumn) data. Results assessed comparisons with census statistics, scoring field-by-field, comparing classmap, pixel-by-pixel, check-maps. In cereal farming areas make up most arable lowlands Britain, TM can provide accurate cover distribution data, at scale individual field, for major uses. No other method realistically do this. With some caution, such methods might adopted routine operational use.
