摘要: This article proposes a practical semi-empirical method for determining shear crack-induced deformations in Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) Concrete (RC) beams. Current design guidelines neglect and the calculation of deflections GFRP RC However, shear-induced can be up to 30% total beam deflection due lower stiffness bars compared steel. To calculate component action crack opening, proposed model uses ‘single fictitious inclined crack’ with width equal sum individual effective widths. Twelve tests were conducted on six beams reinforced internally considering different reinforcement types test parameters. The additional deformation cracks calculated by is then used predict overall such failure. It shown that, comparison current guidelines, predicts more accurately FRP at both service ultimate loads. contributes towards development accurate models assess behaviour so as balance performance, serviceability economic viability structures.
