摘要: The increasing prevalence of celiac disease (CD), especially in adults, its atypical clinical presentation, and the strict, lifelong adherence to gluten-free diet (GFD) as only option for healthy state create an imperative need noninvasive methods that can effectively diagnose CD monitor GFD. Aim. Evaluation anti-endomysium (EmA) anti-tissue transglutaminase IgA (tTG-A) antibodies diagnosis, GFD monitoring, first degree relatives screening adult patients. Methods. 70 newly diagnosed Greek patients, controls, 47 were tested presence EmA tTG-A. patients monitored during a 3-year period. Results. predictive ability diagnosis was slightly better compared tTG-A (P = 0.043). could assess compliance with already from beginning diet, while both had equal discriminate between strictly partially compliant after semester so on. Screening resulted identification 2 undiagnosed cases. Conclusions. Both are suitable markers among relatives, having also performance long term monitoring.
