摘要: Although the exact mechanism is unknown, incidence of drug-induced pancreatitis from corticosteroids well established in medical literature. Commonly reported chronic steroid-dependent individuals who require large doses for a wide array pathologies, damage to pancreas low-doses have not been described. We report case 68-year-old woman presented with severe abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, 3 days after initiation low-dose methylprednisolone osteoarthritis. Inpatient laboratory analysis revealed an elevated lipase 1770 U/L CT scan showing extensive necrotising involving head, body tail. Cessation causative medication conservative treatment successfully led resolution symptoms. present this inform clinicians precipitance modest strength corticosteroid management, so that more accurate improved performance pharmacological decisions can be made patient care.
