摘要: Current therapies in clinical practice face strong criticism regarding their efficacy, and side effects, which forced the neuro-researchers to discover novel agents with different mechanistic insights. Glycosides are naturally-occurring plant secondary metabolites significant medicinal potential scope as antidepressant. The aim of this review is focus on antidepressant effects glycosides preclinical studies, an emphasis possible mechanisms. literature search revealed that only a few phytoglycosides have been evaluated for relevance depression alleviation. Through tests, it has come forth efficacy mediated by modulation brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDFN) hippocampus, known promoting synaptic neuronal connectivity neuroplasticity. Thus, attempting upregulation BDNF expression can be therapeutic strategy treatment depression. outcome stimulate neuroscientists evaluate plant-derived depression, these structurally-complex diverse molecules, might usher new paradigm better tolerability.
