摘要: In addition to the major population of infiltrating leukocytes recovered from inflamed rat central nervous system (CNS), all which expressed high levels leukocyte common antigen CD45, many cells were coisolated that MRC OX42+ (complement receptor 3/CD11b) but low-to-moderate CD45 and histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I molecules. Most normal CNS, in contrast, lay within this latter, CD45low population. From previous situ immunohistochemical studies, fortuitously isolated probably resident (ramified) microglia. Using irradiation chimeras, we show microglia respond inflammation by upregulating CD4, MHC molecules with a minority these increasing their expression II A 3- 4-fold increase number CNS provided indirect evidence had proliferated. very small blood-derived CD45high-expressing are present; most is associated few not
