摘要: Magnetorheological (MR) fluids based on glycol, iron powder, polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were prepared. Effects of sedimentation stability magnetorheological properties studied. It is found that the synergetic effects PVP CNTs improve significantly, addition reduces velocity increases equilibrium ratio magnetizable particles in MR remarkably. The can reduce particles, but cannot increase will not change up trend apparent viscosity with increasing intensity external magnetic field. When content lower, increment original at zero-intensity field inconspicuous, their values under are similar. However, tremendously when contents to certain degree. results show only fluid also promote its effect. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci 102: 1653–1657,
