摘要: Turnover in online communities is very high, with most people who initially post a message to an community never contributing again. In this paper, we test whether the responses that newcomers receive their first posts influence extent which they continue participate. The data come from initial made by 2,777 six public newsgroups. We coded content and valence of its response, if it received one, see these factors influenced newcomers’ likelihood posting Approximately 61% reply post, those got were 12% more likely again; probability again increased 44% 56%. They response asked question or wrote longer post. Surprisingly, quality received—its emotional tone answered newcomer’s question—did not
