摘要: Aqueous extract of rhizome Podophyllum hexandrum (RP-1) has been found to render protection against lethal whole body irradiation (10 Gy), damage haemopoietic and gastrointestinal tissue etc. in mice. In order assess its suitability from clinical point view effects were investigated on male germinal Swiss albino strain 'A' mice (10-12 weeks) exposed varied radiation doses (0.5, 2.0, 5.0 10 Gy) with without 200 mg/kg b.w. RP-1 sacrificed at different time periods (10, 35 70 days) collect the tissue. Administration RP-1, 2 h before rendered a significant increase testis weight, repopulating tubules, resting primary spermatocytes, stem cell survival index, sperm counts reduction abnormalities morphology, all studied here. treatment alone did not generate any adverse effects. These results reveal that if put application, will be harmful testicular system.
