摘要: Gesticulation is the kind of unconscious, idiosyncratic and unconventional gestures humans do in conversation or narration. This chapter reviews efforts made to harness expressiveness gesticulation virtual proposes one such model. First, psycholinguistics research overviewed so as understand how occurs humans. Then, relevant computer graphics computational systems are reviewed. Finally, a model for human expression presented which supports: (a) real-time animation described sequences constraints on static (Portuguese Sign Language hand shapes, orientation palm axis, angle handedness) dynamic features; (b) synchronization between synthesized speech; (c) automatic reproduction annotations GestuRA, transcription algorithm; (d) control through an abstract integrated synchronized language – Expression Markup (EML). Two studies, were conducted evaluate storytelling context, also described.
