摘要: Abstract We have just completed the Tacaribe arenavirus (TV) genome structure by sequencing 5′ region of L RNA. Analysis sequence has indicated existence an open reading frame (ORF) in viral sense RNA encoding a 95 amino acid polypeptide. The first phase AUG codon is positions 70–72 from end surrounded favorable for initiation protein synthesis. ORF ends at 355–357. predicted polypeptide (P 11 contains cysteine-rich bearing remarkable similarity to “zinc finger” sequences found number proteins. recently reported that 3′ TV encodes comprising 2210 acids viral-complementary sequence. This latter gene, i.e., terminates 442-440 two genes encoded (L and P ) are opposite strands do not overlap, but separated noncoding intergenic 82 nucleotides. nucleotide leads prediction strong secondary structure.
