摘要: Manual palpation or ultrasonographic examination of the cow’s genital tract are currently used by veterinarians involved in reproductive management, but knowledge potential and limitations both methods is important to obtain an optimal accuracy diagnosis physiological pathological ovarian structures. This review presents main features manual characteristics follicles, corpora lutea (with without a cavity), follicular lutenized cysts reliability two compared. follicles <10 mm rather inaccurate, ultrasound offers possibility diagnose <5 measure their inner diameter. The predictive values presence absence corpus luteum as determined similar (78 vs. 75%). growing regressing difficult. positive value mature diagnosed ultrasonography lower (87%) than negative (92%). Compared palpation, permits better estimation number determine more precisely size luteum. for 66 74% respectively, luteal cysts, 85%, respectively. Manual useful tools structures cow. such can be enhanced securing information on history animal, uterine horns, vaginal progesterone determinations.
