Health insurance determines antenatal, delivery and postnatal care utilisation: evidence from the Ghana Demographic and Health Surveillance data

摘要: Objective This study aims to evaluate the effect of maternal health insurance status on utilisation antenatal, skilled delivery and postnatal care. Design A population-based cross-sectional study. Setting participants We utilised 2008 Demographic Health Survey data Ghana, which included 2987 women who provided information status. Primary outcomes Utilisation Statistical analyses Multivariable logistic regression was applied determine independent association between Results After adjusting for socioeconomic, demographic obstetric factors, we observed that among insured likelihood having antenatal care increased by 96% (OR 1.96; 95% CI 1.52 2.52; p value Conclusions demonstrated plays a significant role in uptake maternal, neonatal child continuum service.
