Integrating maternal health services into a health insurance scheme: effect on healthcare delivery

摘要: BACKGROUND: Healthcare delivery is a foremost important basic social services. OBJECTIVE: This study reviews the influence of integration maternal health services into Anambra State Nigeria government-community care financing scheme on service at primary level in Igboukwu Aguata Local Government Area Nigeria. METHODS: A descriptive cross-sectional with an intervention component conducted amongst 120 women reproductive age group Obiuno centre Igboukwu. RESULTS: Mean respondents was 30.5 +/- 6.0 years majority 44 (36.7%) range 26-30 years. Almost half forty eight (40%) participants are post secondary educational status; 60 (50%) civil servants. Utilization % antenatal and were significantly better late period when compared to early period. Quality from clients perspective also showed significant improvement There overall greater availability equipments drugs consumables medical records facility later during scheme. CONCLUSION: Community based insurance schemes that focus ensure provision adequate funds for cover great proportion rural communities.
