Effect of carboxyl anchoring groups in asymmetric zinc phthalocyanine with large steric hindrance on the dye-sensitized solar cell performance

摘要: Abstract Asymmetric zinc phthalocyanines containing tribenzonaphtho-condensed porphyrazine with six bulky diphenylphenoxy and one or two carboxyl groups are used as sensitizers for dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). It is found that Zn- tri -PcNc-4 having shows a slight redshift in the Q-band absorption but significantly decreased absorbance compared -PcNc-8 group, Zn -tri- PcNc-4 can be more stably perpendicularly grafted onto TiO 2 surface than PcNc-8 , which further leads to differences interfacial charge transfer dynamics dye-loaded amount. electrode of DSSC results photovoltaic conversion efficiency 3.22%, higher (3.01%) analog group ( ), exhibits lower short-circuit current much open-circuit voltage. The additional enhanced amount molecular orbital energy level shift toward positive direction, causing efficient electron injection ; while would cause protonation surface, possibly downward conduction band edge, then present demonstrate engineering aspect ZnPc dyes fine tuning levels structures crucial high DSSCs.
