PVA nanocomposites reinforced with Zn2Al LDHs, intercalated with orange dyes

摘要: Zn2Al-layered double hydroxides (LDH) were intercalated with anions of the dyes Orange G, II, and Methyl by alkaline co-precipitation aqueous solutions zinc chloride aluminum nitrate simultaneously in presence dye sodium salts. Transparent, homogeneous, colored nanocomposite films obtained casting after dispersing dye-intercalated LDHs (pigments) into commercial poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA). The characterized X-ray diffraction, ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy, thermal analysis (thermogravimetric (TGA)) differential (DTA)), mechanical testing. Mechanical reinforcement PVA compounded was achieved, reasonable increases Young’s modulus ultimate tensile strength observed as little 0.5% added filler, while larger amounts tended to decrease effect. These results demonstrate onset a new range potential applications for layered hydroxide preparation polymer composite multifunctional materials.
