摘要: Background HIV/AIDS is a tremendous public health crisis, with call for its eradication by 2030. A human rights response through civil society engagement critical to support and sustain HIV efforts. However, ongoing challenge. Objective This study aimed demonstrate the use of Twitter data assess sentiment in engagement. Methods Tweets were collected during World AIDS Days 2014 2015. total 39,940 unique tweets (>10 billion users) 78,215 (>33 2015 analyzed. Response frequencies aggregated using natural language processing. Hierarchical rank-2 nonnegative matrix factorization algorithm generated hierarchy into binary trees. Tweet clusters thematically organized Joint United Nations Programme on core action principles categorized under Prevention, Treatment or Care, Support. Results Topics tweeted 35 times more visualized. show decrease frequency associated fight end HIV/AIDS, recognition women, achieve an AIDS-free generation. Moreover, increase was integrative approach response. thematic differences included no prevention discussion pandemic's impact discrimination. In addition, observed motivation fast track combat HIV/AIDS. Conclusions The rights-based critical. Findings usefulness as low-cost method enhanced knowledge, increased hope, revitalized expectations eradication.
