摘要: Cerradomys is a Neotropical genus of cricetid rodents with seven recognized species, subflavus, C. maracajuensis, marinhus, scotti, langguthi, vivoi, and goytaca. Species the are distributed throughout open vegetation belt across South America, from northeastern southeastern Atlantic coast Brazil to eastern Paraguay Western Bolivia. Here we describe new species state Tocantins in Central Brazil, based on morphological, karyological mitochondrial DNA analyses. This characterized by medium body size long tail, dense dorsal pelage, overall color gray olive lined yellow, head dorsum continuous, ventral slightly yellowish, skull deep rostral depression, mesopterygoid fossa wide sphenopalatine vacuities, presence alisphenoid strut complex posterolateral palatal pits, unique chromosomal formula (2n = 60 FNa 74). Phylogenetic analyses cytochrome b sequences, including for first time all known indicate that more closely related scotti. The found sympatry while subflavus (but not syntopy) one locality Minas Gerais. Finally, analysis sequences indicates goytaca very genetically might be conspecific. Alternatively, these results can also explained incomplete lineage sorting due recent speciation event.
