A TEM method for analyzing local strain fields in irradiated materials

摘要: Abstract Of great interest to the field of fracture mechanics is strain in front a crack tip. In irradiated materials, cavities which naturally form as result radiation provide convenient internal markers. If miniaturized tensile sample pulled situ transmission electron microscope (TEM), both relative displacement these and their distortion shape information on localized microscopic level. addition, TEM method allows direct correlation active slip systems with propagation characteristics. To illustrate this map was constructed about propagating helium type 316 stainless steel containing large cavities.
