Abdominal wall defects in Denmark, 1970–89

摘要: In the last two to three decades, increasing rates of gastroschisis but not omphalocele have been reported from different parts world. The present study represents a register containing 469 children born with abdominal wall defects based on data retrieved 20 birth cohorts (1970-89) in nationwide registries. A tentative estimate completeness as regards identification liveborn and stillborn infants is minimum 95% 90% respectively. All cases were reclassified 166 gastroschisis, 258 16 gross defect. average point prevalence at was 1.33 per 10 000 live stillbirths. During first decade, an increase occurred culminating 1976, followed by decrease reaching its initial value 1983 then new increase. Overall, no significant linear trend could be demonstrated for entire period. 2.07 defect 0.12 stillbirths change geographical distribution showed difference county.
