摘要: We present a statistical analysis of the acoustic emissions induced by dislocation motion during creep ice single crystals. The recorded waves provide an indirect measure inelastic energy dissipated motion. Compression and torsion experiments indicate that viscoplastic deformation, even in steady-state (secondary creep), is complex inhomogeneous process characterized avalanches dislocations. distribution avalanche sizes, identified with wave amplitude (or energy), found to follow power law cutoff at large amplitudes which depends on stage (primary, secondary, tertiary). These results suggest deformation possibly other materials could be described framework non-equilibrium critical phenomena.
