摘要: Copper is a transition metal that exists in different chemical forms (e.g., Cu2+,Cu+, and Cu0) at high concentrations it toxic. Here, we investigated the Cu2+-induced toxicity Drosophila melanogaster, evaluating survival, locomotion, activity of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) glutathione S-transferase (GST) enzymes. Flies were exposed to Cu2+(0.1-1 mmol CuSO4/kg diet or approximately 0.1-1 mM Cu2+) allowed mate during 24 h. GST AChE enzymes evaluated larvae head body (thorax + abdomen) adult male females flies. The total number (0.4-1 mM) males (0.75 1 mM) was decreased by CuSO4. climbing ability hampered flies 1 mM Cu2+. In larvae, Cu2+(0.4-1 mM) increased (P < 0.002). males' heads, 0.4 mM Cu2+ (P < 0.01). adults' bodies, Cu2+inhibited both sexes, but with greater effectiveness (0.1 than (1 mM). Regarding activity, 0.1 mM Cu2+increased, decrease larvae. flies, Cu2+decreased intermediate (0.4 mM) highest concentration (1 mM) males. effect Cu2+was similar. conclusion, Cu2+exposure D. melanogaster disrupted locomotion enzymatic parameters can be related changes detoxifying enzyme.
