摘要: Repressor/activator protein 1 (RAP1) is a highly conserved telomere-interacting protein. Yeast Rap1 protects telomeres from non-homologous end joining (NHEJ), plays important roles in telomere length control and involved transcriptional gene regulation. However, role for mammalian RAP1 protection remains controversial. Here we present evidence that essential to protect homology directed repair (HDR) of telomeres. cooperates with the basic domain TRF2 (TRF2(B)) repress PARP1 SLX4 localization Without TRF2(B), HR factors promote rapid resection, resulting catastrophic loss generation telomere-free chromosome fusions both mouse human cells. The Myb required formation fusions. Our results highlight importance RAP1-TRF2 heterodimer protecting inappropriate processing by HDR pathway.
