摘要: Background Reading maxillofacial computed tomography (CT) scans is a basic skill for any surgeon who operates on the face. A standard systematic approach how to read CT scan from surgeon's perspective lacking in literature, particularly those early stages of training. We present method initial rapid analysis which our residents training have responded and report be conceptually simple apply. Methods The senior author reviewed over 250 consults face trauma performed detailed composite most common elements each consult as well clinically relevant decision points. These were then bundled into conceptual sketch skull-face-mandible with an accompanying standardized clinical data list. The new guided through reading while sketching injuries identified. authors survey establish if was helpful learners prior after adoption method. consisted five questions regarding utility CT. Results In total, seven surveyed; 100% thought technique made facial easier, this easy teach junior 86% found easier helped their surgical making. Conclusion We surgeons evaluate scans. This first published account methodology surgeons.
