摘要: Metamaterial EM insulators are designed to eliminate mutual coupling between closely packed array elements. This technique allows for element design in isolation, without consideration of effects. Eliminating also denser packing and higher directivity antenna arrays. By placing isolation walls along the radiating edges a patch on /spl lambda//sub 0//3/spl times//spl 0//3 ground plane 19.2dB front-to-back ratio is achieved. 0.05/spl 0/ thick exhibit -10 dB bandwidths 2-6% with very low losses various geometries greater than 20 peak achieved spacing 0.2/spl 0/.
