摘要: CLONING and sequencing techniques now allow us to characterize genes directly instead of having deduce their properties from effects. This new genetics reaches its apotheosis in the plan obtain complete DNA sequence human genome, but this is far beyond capacity present methods. Small 'model' genomes, such as those Escherichia coli (4.7 megabases (Mb)1 yeast (14 Mb)2, or even Caenorhabditis elegans (100 Mb) Drosophila(165 Mb), are better scaled existing technology. The genome will contain with functions common all eukaryotic cells, simple multi-cellular organisms may throw light on genetic specification more complex functions. However, vertebrates differ morphology development, so ideal model would be a vertebrate minimum size complexity maximum homology genome. Here we report characterization small (400 tetraodontoid fish, Fugu rubripes5. A random approach supported by gene probing shows that haploid contains 400 Mb DNA, which 90% unique. 7.5 times smaller than because it has similar repertoire best for discovery genes.
