Binding of enterotoxigenicEscherichia coliexpressing different colonization factors to tissue-cultured Caco-2 cells and to isolated human enterocytes

摘要: The binding of ETEC strains expressing different colonization factors to the human enterocyte-like cell line Caco-2 and isolated enterocytes were determined. Strains CFA/I, CS2, CS4+CS6, CS5+CS6, CS7, CFA/III+CS6 PCFO166 adhered well both types cells whereas bacteria producing CS1, CS6 only, or CS17 did not adhere either jejunal enterocytes, suggesting that similar structures are present in types. However, some instances, two differed, e.g. CS3 PCFO9 bound but cells. Conversely, PCFO20 PCFO159 only enterocytes.
