摘要: We examine the impact that postdepositional change has on ion concentrations in ice cores suffer limited seasonal melting. show case of at least one Svalbard core is to decreasing resolution signals about 3 years – a similar accuracy as best dating can usually provide. model various effects such percolation and washout ions, how they be used construct useful proxies. The sulfate profile shows post depositional lead magnesium nitrate being excellent predictors under normal conditions for indicating difference properties acidic neutral salt components. approach leads an objective method detecting volcanic sulfate, even when are much smaller than variability caused by other factors. emphasis importance correct statistical analysis interpretation profiles, taking into account measurement errors distribution chromatography data affects modelling should done.
