摘要: Echinochrome A (6-ethyl-2,3,5,7,8-pen-tahydroxy-1,4-naphthoquinone) is a common naphthoquinone pigment found in the shells, spines, and coelomic fluid of sea urchins. We previously reported that echinochrome has cardioprotective function as an antioxidant against reactive oxygen species (ROS) induced by tert-Butyl hydroperoxide doxorubicin. In current study, we evaluated activity, ATP production, consumption rate (OCR) seven structural analogs (spinochromes) AC16 human cardiomyocyte cells. The compounds included study had various substituents including hydroxyl (Sp B Sp E), amino (Echm A), methoxyl (TriMeEch pentyl (No. 284), hydroxypentyl 285). also investigated effects one dimeric spinochrome (Binaphthoquinone). Spinochromes exhibited enhanced activity production. Interestingly, hydroxylated significantly OCR protective effect presence Our findings indicate may have therapeutic potential for cardio-protection.
