摘要: A bank of freeze-stored donor retinas would free transplantation research from dependence on availability fresh tissue. Donor E13, E16, E19 and E22 (P1) rat embryos were cryoprotected stored in liquid nitrogen for up to 8 months. Cryopreserved grafted adult retina. After 4 weeks survival, transplants evaluated according a scoring protocol the criteria size, viability, lamination integration. All ages cryopreserved retina resulted successful transplants, with exception E13. grafts significantly less laminated than The best scores achieved age E16. Surviving found epiretinal and/or subretinal space. Subretinal had higher viability did grafts; difference was more pronounced Fresh also better transplants. This study shows that (1) retinal tissue can successfully be transplanted retina; (2) space appears favorable
