摘要: Within the current higher education context, early career researchers (ECRs) face a 'risk-career' in which predictable, stable academic careers have become increasingly rare. Traditional milestones to signal progress toward sustainable research are disappearing or subject reinterpretation, and ECRs need attend new reimagined signals their efforts develop researcher identity this context. In article, we present comprehensive framework for relation ways recognise respond divergent across spheres of activity. We illustrate through eight stories drawn from our earlier projects. Each story highlights congruence (or lack congruence) between activity emphasises different these signals. The proposed allows analysis development complex intertwined activities involved. advance approach as foundation sustained agenda understand how identify relevant signals, and, consequently, unravel interplay evident struggles risk-career environment.
