R‐net: A high speed fibre optics network with reservation access protocol

摘要: This paper proposes and describes R-net, a network with new reservation access protocol that is very suitable for implementation optical fibre in high speed local area networks. In the operation of framing structure variable length superimposed on bus to bound medium delay which highly desirable feature real time applications. As long as frame constraint not violated, performance R-net limited by operating data rate, utilization can be set unity choosing appropriate parameters. The proposed has advantage efficient throughput approaching most practical configurations, bounded delay, at normal load, fair all nodes allows dynamic bandwidth allocation between connected bus. A (delay utilization) comparison Expressnet also presented.
