摘要: In 94 patients with squamous carcinoma of the head and neck region, clinical extent tumor was correlated in vitro lymphocyte reactivity (LR) to phytohemagglutinin (PHA) serum complement-fixing antibodies herpes simplex virus (HSV)-induced tumor-associated antigen (TAA). Forty-six were tumor-bearing 48 considered cured. Controls 41 age-matched normals histories similar cigarette consumption. 15 Stage I carcinomas larynx, among whom diameter 5 mm or less, mean LR PHA did not differ from controls 7 11 tested (63%) had HSV-TAA. 83 more extensive tumors, significantly lower than 42 44 (95%) both groups, cured patients. The study delineates a burden associated impaired high incidence HSV-TAA shows correlation between immune defects clinically prior treatment.
