摘要: Pancreatic islet-cell transplantation is very effective in treating insulin-dependent diabetes animals but has had no success humans. Most have received grafts after short periods of diabetes, while patients been grafted years disease. We shown a detrimental effect chronic on animals, which at least partially ameliorated by peritransplant insulin infusion. suggest that this may be mediated poor vascularisation. There further evidence from wound healing and tumour grafting experiments, the recent pump studies humans to support our hypothesis. To successful, performed earlier course disease preceded period accurate diabetic control.
