摘要: Multiple hypotheses have been proposed to explain female mate choice and some of the mechanisms underlying these choices. Females prairie voles display social mating preferences for males with longer avpr1a microsatellite alleles, which provide more paternal care exhibit less interest in novel females compared shorter alleles. The cues use differentiate among different genotypes are unknown, so objective our study was determine if can discriminate using only male olfactory cues. In a laboratory test, simultaneously presented soiled bedding from short versus long alleles showed no significant difference total time spent investigating each type bedding. Nor did greater number spend These findings were not influenced by estrous status or their own genotype. Our results suggest alone insufficient female's ability between future research should focus on combination
