摘要: Complete resection is usually impossible for fibrous dysplasia (FD) involving the cranial base. Incomplete could be followed by regrowth of FD, but there no method indicating disease progress. Serum alkaline phosphatase (ALP) significantly high in patients with FD. The authors investigate relationship between ALP, progress and age at surgery. 18 craniofacial FD were separated into 3 groups: Group A, complete resection; B, incomplete FD; C, Medical records CT scans reviewed retrospectively. ALP levels obtained preoperatively, postoperatively every year during follow-up. relation that surgery investigated. There was recurrence A (n = 4). Regrowth B 7) preceded an abrupt increase ALP. In C 7), observed maintained within normal range. 6 (85%) 2 (28%) under 17 years old. results revealed level postoperative serum a reliable marker predicting
