摘要: Background: Fibrous dysplasia is a benign bone lesion characterized by replacement of normal with fibro-osseous connective tissue. The surgical treatment fibrous based on one two different approaches, conservative or radical. Methods: From January 1980 to December 2002, 95 patients located in the craniomaxillofacial area presented authors’ department. Twenty-one had polyostotic type (22 percent), McCune-Albright syndrome (2 and 72 monostotic (76 percent). Of patients, 68 underwent surgery; remaining 27 refused. Among who surgery, 61 radical excision, six received treatment, patient mandibular involvement excision immediate reconstruction free fibula flap after recurrence experienced 2 years primary remodeling surgery Results: No disease was observed cases treated complete whereas case required further surgery. Infection, resolved antibiotics, seen case, palatal fistula cases. In cranial base liquorrhea observed. Conclusions: most monofocal craniofacial region, modern techniques allow an aggressive but definitive good functional aesthetic results. authors perform even involving maxilla mandible, prefer approach only syndrome.
