摘要: We use the phase-field crystal model to study nucleation of edge dislocations in two dimensions under an applied stress field. A dislocation dipole nucleates stress, consistent with Burgers vector conservation. The phase field correctly accounts for elastic energy storage prior and dissipative relaxation during event. show that a lattice incompatibility is sensitive diagnostic location event slip direction will be nucleated above threshold. direct calculation accurately correlates event, as signaled by Schmid-like criterion concerning resolved at site predicts critical stress. Finally, we present preliminary results three-dimensional, bcc lattice. allows computation tensor both lines loops.
